Just because an author writes about something it is assumed to represent the authors views. An author can write about things he doesn't hold dear. The weight of determining a persons views should come from their own words. If Mr. Schultz said he is a secular humanist then he is one. Even if he did (past tense) teach Sunday school it doesn't mean he has those views later in life. Once again we see a common mistake critics make. Just because an author writes about something it is assumed to represent the authors views. An author can write about things he doesn’t hold dear.
